This holiday has tendency to get moody in Poland… and so do I on that day.

I know I dreamed you a sin and a lie
I have my freedom but I dont have much time
Faith has been broken, tears must be cried
Lets do some living after we die

King Abdullah comments about Britain not doing enough to combat terrorism can only provoke a bitter smile. The fertile soil on which the terrorism itself grows is the salafist ideology distributed and very well funded by the Saudi kingdom. In this respect the following documentary by british Channel 4 is worth reminding:

King Abdullah’s recent visit sparked justified controversy. After all the Saudi money still fuels the spread of radical ideology – books supporting execution of apostates and stoning of adulterers have just been found in one of main British mosques, regularly visited by Saudi ministers, and run by a Saudi diplomat Ahmad al-Dubayan. Saudi Arabia record of human rights earned the sharp criticism from organizations like Amnesty International. In this context words of British Foreign Office minister Kim Howells about British-Saudi “shared values” are particularly disturbing. The article by Malise Ruthven makes me think that Saudi Arabia suffers from a kind of “split personality”. They simply won’t see the connection between the their wahhabi ideology and terrorism. On one hand the king makes attempts at modernization (also here) but the West should be clear in pointing out the obvious – the real source of problem is the supremacist religious ideology. Britain has failed to do so.

Something seems rotten in the state of England.

Welcome to my corner in the vast, vast network.

So here it goes. A new blog from hopefully new Poland. The winning party brings in some fresh air after 2 years of indolent Law and Justice rule. The blog will be devoted to the issues of society – here in Poland, in Europe, it will be devoted to the cause of liberty, freethought and rationalism. All are most welcome to read and comment and create our common reflection about the time we live in. Welcome :)
